Information update of Schengen visa in 2020
Schengen visa rules set to change as of February 2020. Here’s what you need to know.
- Extended application submission periods
From the old information, application can be lodged before 3 months. But now, application can be lodged before 6 months in advance of a trip. However, remains 15 calendar days before an intended trip to the Schengen Area.
- Increase the longer duration to stay
EU intends to introduce a harmonized approach to the issuing of multiple entry visas to regular travelers with a positive visa history for a period, which increases gradually from 1 to 5 years. - Higher Visa Fee
Applicants used to pay 60 (about 2,100 baht) euro per application. Now need to pay 80 euro (about 2,800 baht) But children aged 0 to 6 remain exempt from the visa fees.
List of countries as below can use Schengen Visa to travel to any members of the Schengen Area. But travelers must have Schengen Visa which is double entry or multiple entry and not valid. However, travelers must use that Schengen visa to travel to some of Schengen area before. And the duration of stay will be different in each country.
